Children’s Ministry:
Where we’re “growing a community of faithful families, fully devoted to Christ.”
Our main Teaching Time for the kids is Sunday School. Here’s some information.
Before you come to church:
- Dress comfortably. (We may do some activities outside and you might get dirty)
- Please leave all toys and other play things at home unless your teacher tells you otherwise.
- Parents are always welcome to visit our children’s programs.
- We especially encourage parents of babies to stay with your children for 2-3 weeks to get them adjusted to our nursery then leave them with our Wonderful Nursery Staff. After than, join us once a month to keep up with what your children are learning about God.
- Rest assured that your children are safe with our volunteers. All volunteers go through an application process and criminal record check with the FBI.
Suggested diaper bag contents:
- A small diaper bag or sack
- 1-2 bottles as needed (please label bottles and cups with your child’s first and last name using a permanent pen)
- Extra Diapers (disposable diapers are preferred)
- Pacifier (labeled with your child’s name)
- Change of clothes
- Your child’s favorite blanket
- (optional) Extra snacks for toddlers
Please do not bring
- Medication (parents must administer meds)
- Personal toys (as this can cause jealousy among the children).
Sick Children: Our wellness policy:
- No sick children will be admitted into the children’s ministry!
- We want all our children to remain healthy and happy.
Please keep your child at home if he/she has any of the following symptoms:
- Fever greater than 99.5
- Runny Nose
- Questionable Rashes
- Coughing
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting within the last 24 hours
- Impetigo
- Active Chicken Pox
- Measles
- Mumps
- Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
Children with clear-runny nose or rash due to allergies are welcome. Please just let us know that they are not contagious.
When you arrive:
- Nursery babies and toddlers will check in at the Cafeteria Teacher’s Lounge.
- Parent's please sign your children K-5st Grade @ P-10.
The Rules:
- Please raise your hand when you want to talk.
- Please follow directions promptly. (Hebrews 13:17a)
- Please treat other with respect. (Mark 12:31) This means listening to others, saying only nice things, and keeping your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.
- If you need to leave your class, let the teacher or assistant know where you’ll be and take a buddy. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)
- Please do not eat in Children’s Church unless it is snack time, or your teacher allows it. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)
And The Consequences:
1st time: You will be given a warning.
2nd time: You will be placed on time-out away from the group (max. 10 mins).
3rd time: You will miss an activity, and your teacher will talk to you about your behavior.
4th time: Your parents will be asked to come and take you out of the children’s ministry. You will be allowed to join us again next week.
*** If at any time a child refuses to listen to the teacher, his/her parents will be notified of the child’s behavior, and the parents will be asked to remove their son/daughter from the children’s ministry. They will be allowed to join us again next week.
When church service finishes:
- Your babies and toddlers will be in the Teachers Lounge where you dropped them off. You will need to pick them up there for safety purposes.
- Other children will be in their classrooms. Please come and sign them out.
- Snacks will be provided at the Hospitality table outside the worship center. Most parents have fellowship there after church and meet their children at the Hospitality Table.
- If you would like to donate snacks we ask for simple treats that can be kept from one week to another in case of extra. (fruit punch syrup, granola bars, animal cookies, graham crackers, etc.)
During the week:
- We encourage you to review each week’s lesson with your children, perhaps in a family devotion time. Children attending Sunday School will be given a “take-home page” with activities for the whole family during the week.
- There are also great free resources on the internet for family time.
